ED and HILDA KRAHN
Owners
Ed and Hilda Krahn have been married 55 years with 2 sons and 1 daughter. Both Ed and Hilda immigrated from Paraguay as teenagers, met and spent most of their adult lives in Manitoba. They reside in Peachland, BC in the Okanagan Valley for the past 15 years.
Ed built his career in Winnipeg in the ready-mix concrete world, along with building and development. You may recognize Ed from K & H Concrete in Winnipeg, or All Star Concrete in Lorette or other ventures before he sold to Lafarge and Inland. You will see Ed on his gator, always working with a smile and a wave. Ed has built many businesses and is known for his care for people. He will take care of his people. You may see Hilda in her tiny truck on site driving around getting things done. Get to know them, you will understand the pulse of this campground.
It should be noted that both Ziggy and Linda have worked for Ed for over 20 years in various capacities. If you ever meet one of Ed’s previous employees, most times you will get a smile and a story of how well they were treated. It is a testament to how Ed treats his employees and customers.
ZIGGY and SARA THIESSEN
Maintenance Managers
Ziggy and Sara have been married 41 years with 1 son and 2 daughters. They have lived in Niverville, Manitoba for 22 years after immigrating also from Paraguay. (Ed and Ziggy met in Canada)
Ziggy has worked with Ed in various Managerial roles for many years. Ziggy and Sara are a key piece to our team at Grand Palms. You will see them working in all areas from delivering wood, pumping septic, cleaning the pool, cutting grass, or wherever else we need to service the park. You will also see them smiling while completing these tasks. They are a dynamic duo that work superbly together. We are thrilled to have them on our team.
JENNIFER KRAHN
General Manager
Jen is the new Manager at Grand Palms this year. She resides in West Kelowna where her son and daughter are living in her home while she is in Manitoba. Jen comes to us with a background of over 30 years in money management. A former banker including lending and insurance, eventually becoming a Broker of Private Equity for over 10 years. Jen has worked on large international deals throughout her career.
Currently, Jen works as a Business Consultant helping companies to launch and bring them to the marketplace. Jen is new in her role as General Manager of the campground this year. She is the daughter of Ed and Hilda. Jen wears many hats so she will most likely be your girl for any questions you may have at Grand Palms.
KIM STEPHENS
Store Manager Assistant
Kim is married to Adam, and she has 4 children. Kim and Adam live in Winnipeg with their 2 daughters where they own and operate Stephens Construction. They have been campers at Grand Palms since 2019 at the very beginning. You will see Kim in the store working in the store when needed and she volunteers on the Grand Palms Events Committee as well. Thank you Kim, for your smiles and your passion for the park.
LORIE REMPEL
Store Assistant
Lorie has been married to Michael almost 10 years. They share one son and one daughter. Lorie is a Grade 1 & 2 school teacher enjoying her second summer at Grand Palms. She is organized and great with people. Glad to have you on the team Lorie!

Bookkeeper
Linda has a long list of credentials and a long-term trusting relationship with Ed. We are in the best of hands for our bookkeeping and reports. Thank you, Linda, for the wealth of knowledge you bring. You are a treasure for this campground.

BRAD SMITH, MOSQUITO SPRAY SERVICE
Brad & Ashleigh own B&A Landscaping + Property Maintenance Inc. They offer property maintenance, landscape construction, snow and ice control, and for us here at Grand Palms they offer a mosquito spraying service.
They use high velocity backpack sprayers to target all plant areas, under decks, and every area on your site. The spray contains a synthetic version of pyrethrin. Each application lasts for 17-19 days and is effective immediately. Rain will not affect the treatment. Ask one of our customers, they will tell you their site is mosquito free. Please order the week before to ensure timely service.

JEFF TARR
Jeff is a red seal automotive mechanic / technician. He also has RVTI training, working on Level 3. Jeff’s wife Leeanna has 25+ years in business. They live in Blumenort, MB. Jeff and Leaana have owned JLT Mobile for 3 years and this year they went full time with this business. Jeff will come on site at Grand Palms regularly if needed. Having an RV fixed on site is much easier than pulling the trailer out and transporting for service. Contact Jeff to discuss your RV issues to ensure he has the right parts for you when he arrives on site to fix your camper.

LEE LOUDON, PLUMBER
Lee Loudon was just promoted to Supervisor at Grand Beach Provincial Park! He has numerous titles. He is a Water Treatment Operator, a Plumber and a Firefighter. He lives in the area in Belair so he is never far. Lee will be around our campground a lot this summer and will take our water into Winnipeg for testing every week as per regulation requirements so we have potable water. (safe to drink) We are very fortunate to have him with us as his qualifications will ensure we have a great understanding of our water every single week.
